INFORMATION
By cutting a piece of cloth, Takahashi transforms the flatness of cloth into a three-dimensional configuration, and changes the surface layer expression into a solid material construction. Cutting allows the pull of gravity to bend the cloth to produce a lightly multifaceted perspective developing from the relationship between the front and back cloth planes and changes its expression and sense of materiality. From this operation “SAKASHIMA” was born. Ogata created a partition structure that supports the flexible transformation of the cloth and provides both transparency and opacity arising from the nature of “SAKASHIMA”. Additionally, LEDs were installed into the construction to make various lighting effects that leak from the cut notches.

After graduating from art university, I worked at a private design studio, and after leaving the studio, opened my own studio. After working as an interior fabric designer, while working as an art director and corporate advisor, involved in a local industry promotion support project. After that, opened own private brand and an art gallery, and continue to this day.
Belongs to the product design unit B6 studio established in 2010.
While setting up a joint studio and working toward the ideal way of making things that can only be produced by the unit while making the best use of each characteristic, as an individual, we are also conducting research and activities focusing on materials and processing techniques.
