Embassy of Brazil

area: 外苑前/GAIENMAE

information

The Embassy of Brazil in Tokyo stands along the streets of Aoyama area near Omotesando. Located in a straight alley, the curved facade with a vertical frame painted red, and the yellow painted walls with an opposite curve as the main building create a welcoming feeling and a public space right in front of the building, mimicking a feature common in Brazilian cities called “praça” (square). The stairs add monumentality and perspective from the street. The glass facade makes the building internal spaces interact with the local environment.
