DESIGNARTTOKYO 2018 REPORT
Under the theme “Design & Art into the Emotions” DESIGNART TOKYO 2018 reached its successful conclusion on October 28.
For 10 days from October 19 to October 28, with 120 exhibitions in 90 locations, DESIGNART TOKYO 2018 recorded over a total of 120,000 visitors. The festival attracted worldwide attention and was covered by over 300 media outlets from Japan and overseas.
The second year of the festival saw even more creative products and presentations than ever. Compared to the festival’s inaugural year, 2018 was almost twice as large in scale and saw many more people visiting the exhibition sites with DESIGNART booklets, maps, and official bags in hand.
We were successful in fulfilling our vision of “revitalizing the creative industry”, “creating new opportunities for people to interact and collaborate with each other beyond nationality or industry”, and “supporting emerging talent”. As a result, we believe the profile of Japan’s design and art scene is on the rise worldwide.
